If you’re into chemistry and not sure what career you want to take on, a great idea for you may be working in the pharmaceutical field. Pharmacists are responsible for administrating drugs to patients based on their prescriptions. They also measure and package medicine as well as advise patients on how to use their medicine properly.

To start off your education, you need to take two years of an undergraduate program after high school. You must earn a passing score on the Pharmacy college admissions test and then complete a four year pharmaceutical program. You will be learning a lot about chemistry as well as biology, anatomy, and physics. Schooling usually takes six years, but some people spend eight years in college.

Pharmaceutical students also need to complete a variety of rotations. The amount varies depending on your program, but usually you will need to complete 7-10 rotations which each last about 4-6 weeks.  You will then need to become certified and then you can work in a variety of places.

Aside from schooling, you may want to know several other things about pharmacists. Pharmacists can be paid close to 50 or 60 dollars an hour. This can turn into $100,000 or more per year. This is a lot of money for only six years of schooling, but you have to be dedicated, studious, and ready to take on a challenge. You must be interested in science and be able to interact well with others, as you will be working with patients daily.
