Medical assistants usually spend two years in a community college. You will need to take classes in anatomy, medical terminology, transcription, record keeping, among other things. Try to take plenty of biology and other science courses throughout your high school career. You will also want to learn how to efficiently type on a computer, as you will be doing a lot of this.
Medical assistants don’t have to be certified to work, but most employers will not hire you unless you are certified, so it is a good idea to work toward this.
